What is a snap-pack mailer?

A self-sealing document that looks private - because it is.

A snap-pack (also called a pressure seal mailer) is a single sheet printed with your message, then folded and sealed under pressure into a self-contained mailer. No envelope. No inserting. The recipient has to tear or “snap” it open to read the contents - which is exactly why open rates are high.

01
The format
A single sheet - typically 8.5” x 11” or larger - is printed on both sides with your variable content, then folded and sealed with pressure. The outside shows the recipient’s address and your return. The inside is completely private until opened.
02
The variable data
Every piece in the run can be completely different. Name, address, account number, dollar amount, expiration date, personalized offer - all printed in a single pass on our digital press. No plate changes. No reprints. One job, 10,000 unique documents.
03
The psychology
A sealed document signals: this is personal, this is important, this requires your attention. It looks like a government notice, a financial statement, or a legal document - not an advertisement. Recipients open it because it feels like something they need to read.
USSeals™
USSeals™ is US Presort’s in-house snap-pack program. We print, seal, address, sort, and mail your pressure-seal documents without outsourcing a single step. That means tighter quality control, faster turnaround, and no third-party markup on production - just a straightforward cost per piece, concept to mailbox.

The USSeals™ advantage

In-house means no surprises and no middlemen.

Most mailing houses that offer snap-pack mailers outsource the printing. That adds lead time, a production middleman, and a margin on top of the print cost - before anything gets sorted or mailed.

At US Presort, the digital press that prints your snap-packs is in the same facility where your job gets sorted and mailed. One vendor, one contact, one cost. If something needs to change - a data file update, a quantity adjustment, a format tweak - it happens in-house without a phone chain.

We’ve been running production direct mail since 2001. Snap-packs aren’t a specialty add-on for us - they’re a core production capability.

In-house variable data printing
Every piece printed on our digital press - no outsourcing, no production markup, full quality control at every stage.
Pressure sealing on-site
Printed sheets go directly to our pressure-sealing equipment. No offsite transfer, no handling risk between print and seal.
USPS presort & drop-ship
Sealed pieces are addressed, sorted to carrier route, and drop-shipped to the appropriate USPS SCF for the lowest available postage rate.
First-Class & Marketing Mail rates
Choose the mail class that fits your timeline and budget. Non-profit rates available for qualifying organizations.
Data processing included
NCOA, CASS certification, deduplication, and suppression processing - all handled before the job goes to press.
No minimum order
From targeted attorney client runs of 500 to dealer network campaigns of 100,000 - same quality, same process, scaled to your quantity.
How it works

From your data file to sealed and sorted - in one facility.

01
You provide the data
A spreadsheet or database export with your recipient list and the variable fields you want printed on each piece - names, amounts, dates, account numbers.
02
We process & verify
NCOA, CASS, and deduplication run on your list. Bad addresses are flagged or removed before anything goes to print. Your data leaves here cleaner than it arrived.
03
Variable print run
Your template is merged with the data file and printed on our digital press. Every piece is unique. Full-color or black-and-white, single or double-sided.
04
Fold, seal & sort
Printed sheets go directly to pressure sealing, then to our lettershop floor for USPS addressing, barcoding, and carrier-route sort.
05
Postal drop-ship
Your snap-packs are drop-shipped to the USPS Sectional Center Facility serving your recipients - bypassing mail processing stages for faster delivery.
